Knowledge is power, but it can also make a significant difference in another person’s life if you share it with them. The more information that you share with others, the more others will share with you. By sharing everything you know, you will have others seek answers from you.
If you share an idea to 5 people today, imagine if they shared that same idea with another 5 people, and so on. This compounds really fast, and can opens doors for you.
Sharing is a gift, and the more you give, the more you receive in return. You don’t have to be an expert to share what you know. By sharing today, you are sharing your perspective of your journey and helping others who may be on their own journeys as well.
You don’t need to be an authority or expert to teach others. In fact, you can grow a following and become an expert simply by teaching.
Focus on what you have learned in the past or learning today and how you can share those lessons in a way you believe will help others. When thinking about sharing, think about when you were in the same shoes as someone who might come across your material. What do you wish you would’ve known at the time? How can you help those take the beaten path rather than blaze their own trail?
What are some ways to share what you know today?
- Publish a blog
- Speak at an event
- Teach a course or webinar
- Write a book
- Contribute documentation
- Share thoughts with others
- etc
Know that for what you believe is obvious, is amazing for others. In layman’s terms: One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. By not sharing what you know with others, you are playing a competitive game that gets in the way of your goals. You’re not trying to know more than the next person in line, but rather your goal is to empower the person next in line. Strive to be the person who helps others discover new things because you opened doors for them.
